Evans pumps are sought after by owners seeking improved cooling system performance. All Evans pumps use either our proprietary castings or OEM housings. The Evans Performance EP series is designed for serious competition and high performance engines using either Evans NPG™ or water-based coolants. Custom Evans housings, using a 356-T6 aluminum alloy, are available for SB and BB Chevys; these are heat treated and CNC machined for balanced flow. Modified OEM castings are available for most Chevy, Ford and Mopar high performance applications. All feature Evans computer-designed 8-vane aluminum impeller for maintaining maximum flow rates while using minimum HP. The result is maximum reliable HP in competition or while "cruising the town." Dollar for dollar these are the highest volume pumps in the industry, capable of 10,000 rpm. EVANS DESIGNED "CHEVY" PUMPS The Evans small block and big block coolant pumps employ the most advanced designs in the aftermarket. Every pump we sell uses Evans proprietary cooling system technology, refined with 15 years of application and analysis for numerous race teams and vehicles, and by development with OEM's.
For small and big block Chevy race engines, Evans manufactures its own pumps. These feature the 356-T6 aluminum heat-treated housings and the Evans CAD-CAM designed 8-vane 4.4" O.D. high-efficiency impeller which is capable of the highest gallon per minute flow rate in the industry. The pump eye and inlet cross section have been increased by 20% for a decrease in draw restriction, extra material is added for external lines, and the housing has been machined to accept a Viton 0-ring for a positive seal with the back cover. Due to the small outlet ports on the small block OEM castings, the Evans back cover has been rotated 60° to eliminate the bolt bosses which obstruct the flow of the coolant exiting the impeller cavity into the outlet ports. The fan hub is 1/2" steel billet. The highest quality ball/roller bearings with 3/4" shaft are utilized in unison with a ceramic seal. Another unique feature is the external air bleed. Coolant pumps cannot achieve their maximum flow rates unless the impeller cavity is 100% liquid filled, completely void of any vapor or air. The air bleed is used to allow air and vapor to fully escape, and not become entrapped in the impeller cavity. Combined in the EP20111, and EP20211 pumps, these features make the Evans "Chevy" pumps the most advanced available for performance oriented owners. |
| PERFORMANCE PUMPS - EP SERIES COOLANT PUMPS |
High flow pump and pulley combinations for the GM LS1/LS6. Evans EP30913 Pump and Large Pulley (E3919) is now available for demanding engine RPM applications. The pump has been designed to increase flow 20% more than the OEM style replacement pumps, and maintains equal flow to both cylinder banks at any engine RPM. Evans improved design includes an engineered impeller, a billet pulley hub, heavy duty roller bearing and ceramic shaft seal. The 8 vane scrolled impeller design reduces parasitic horsepower loss at high RPM. Evans pumps are machined for correct clearance to accommodate Evans Small LS1 pulley, Evans Large LS1 pulley is a direct bolt on to an Evans pump. Evans has also applied this technology to the GEN III truck pump. (EP30914) Evans Small pulley (E3910) is designed to work with the OEM crank pulley. This Pulley design maximizes cooling capacity by increasing coolant flow on factory applications more effectively then stock pulley combinations. Evans Large pulley (E3915) increases performance when using an under-drive crank pulley. Evans Small and Large pulleys are 8-rib compatible. Optimal Pump RPM range is 2500 - 6500. Pump flow (gpm) is maximized at 5500 pump RPM. For sustained high RPM applications our suggested combination is Evans Large Pulley and a 25% under-drive crank pulley. The pulleys are available as billet aluminum or anodized hard coat.Refer to LS1 Pump RPM vs. engine RPM to compare pulley drive ratios. Evans also recommends the use of their modified thermostats, available in 160ºF and 180ºF temperature settings. The modification increases the flow up to 55% more coolant than other after market thermostats and maximizing the cooling advantage of the Evans EP30913 Pump. Evans LS1 Thermostats can also be used on all OEM LS1 pumps. Pump pulley and thermostat may be purchased separately or may be assembled for your specific application. Corrosion-free ceramic coating is available on the pump and thermostat housing for show quality. Power coating in custom colors is also available, call for quote.

EP30913 Evans has improved the design of the OEM casting to include a Billet pulley hub, heavy duty 3/4" shaft roller bearing assembly and ceramic seal. The EP30913 also includes the Evans 3.8" OD 8 vane scrolled impeller to reduce parasitic horsepower loss at high RPM. The EP30913 is also available with corosion free ceramic coating done on both inside and outside of the housing. A new serpentine belt must be purchased to work with the EP30913.
