WHAT IS AN "EVANS COOLING SYSTEM?"
|
A Fair Question. The answer for those of you who may be unclear or have simply browsed into our site off the web; Quite simply, an "Evans Cooling System" is at the very least, a radically different fluid for use as coolant within internal combustion engines. To be concise; An Evans Cooling System is an internal combustion engine cooling system using a substantially water free coolant! This coolant is Non-Aqueous Propylene Glycol, or Evans NPG. Our NPG "waterless coolant" (less than 10% water, preferably below 2%) has a boiling point significantly higher than standard coolants, such as a 50/50 mix of Water and Ethylene Glycol, and operates at greatly reduced cooling system pressure (Usually between Zero and 7 pounds per square inch). The
preferred engine coolants are organic fluids with the most desirable being
non-aqueous propylene glycol. The high boiling point (369°F)
coolant combined with a relatively quick coolant flow rate combine to
make the Evans system. It is a system with the unique ability to condense
all vapor generated, from the heat of the engine, within the coolant jackets
with no loss to the atmosphere, even at the low system pressure of Zero
to 7 pounds per square inch. |
