| For stock and Hi Performance applications the factory water pump has sufficient volume if the following guidelines are followed. |
| 1986-87 with 1 3/4" diameter thermostat stock HP with no modifications. | ||
| 1. | Remove thermostat. | |
| 2. | Plug the thermostat bypass hose. | |
| 3. | Install restrictor in heater hose. | |
| 4. | Install 7 psi cap on radiator. | |
| 5. | Install air bleed in pump housing. (covered in the Evans instruction manual) | |
| 6. | In hot climates or heavy A/C usage install Evans 3.75"pump pulley. (modifications required with stock crank fan and intercooler.) | |
| 1986-87 with 1 3/4" diameter thermostat with Hi Performance modifications. | ||

| 8. | Intercoolers restrict the air to the radiator if possible install separate oil and transmission cooler. | |
| 1985 and older with 2 1/8" diameter thermostat stock HP with no modifications. | ||

| 2. | Plug the thermostat bypass hose. | |
| 3. | Install restrictor in heater hose. | |
