Company History

Based in Sharon, Connecticut, Evans Cooling Systems, Inc. (Formerly MECA Development) has pioneered innovative aqueous and non - aqueous cooling systems for internal combustion engines, both gasoline and diesel, for the past twenty years. Prior to the development of these radically different cooling technologies - A highly successful and innovative line of oiling systems were also conceived and designed by company founder Jack Evans under the MECA Development name. Broad - reaching patents on Evans NPG cooling systems have been issued in most countries, including Japan, and are pending in others.

John W (Jack) Evans, previously CEO and Chairman of Meca Development and now Evans Cooling Systems, has worked continuously on the development of cooling system technology design since the early experimental stages in 1977. His involvement and expertise in motor sports dates back through the same period during which he worked with some of the biggest auto company’s and names in auto racing. It was during these years that Evans began to develop solutions to the many inadequacies of Race Engines. The technology being devised, at the time, is now widely used in virtually every area of internal combustion engine cooling with systems running in heavy duty diesels, marine engines, experimental aviation applications, motorcycles, and gasoline engines of essentially every design.

Since the early days of Evans, the company has performed several million dollars of Research and Development work while continuing to develop and patent the Evans systems. An inspired dedication to the advancement of automotive technology, Evans and ECS now have 21 issued U.S. patents, over 40 foreign patents and numerous patents pending. Several of Mr. Evans' unique innovations have solved cooling problems that major automobile companies previously believed to be unsolvable. Currently, Evans is doing application engineering with the US Army, in Iraq, giving them the necessary engineering to convert U.S. combat engine designs to the Evans technology.

Evans has tested and developed technology in an incredible variety of commercial engine applications and hugely diverse race teams. Over a period of decades, Evans technology has been tested and proven in the companies private racing teams, both the Mecca Development years and the revamped Evans years, with highly successful results. Evans continues an active roll in motor sports through a very large - world wide - and ever expanding base of highly competitive and unique Evans product sponsored race teams, as well as the Evans NPG NASCAR development car, which continues to run in selected events in the Busch Grand National North racing division.

From early in the 1970s to date, Evans technologies have been first developed by Jack Evans, tested and refined in our privately held over the road test vehicles. Vehicles as ordinary as simple 4 cylinder compacts, V8 vans and trucks, to High performance street machines, exotic European sports cars, brute force American muscle cars. The Evans Cooling technology continues to be utilized in an incredible collection of real world applications - Automobiles of virtually every class, motorcycles and heavy duty diesels - as well as some of the most advanced engines in the world.   Evans conversion center
The company operates a fully staffed fulfillment center in Parkerford, Pennsylvania through which it sells Evans NPG coolants and cooling systems. Warehousing of coolant, and system components, is also done at the Pennsylvania sales office. The Sharon, Connecticut executive offices, and research center, continues to develop refinements and new technologies for the company. Key new proprietary developments are; “Detox” a technology which can simply detoxify any conventional cooling system using ethylene glycol and water (antifreeze), and a unique “nano particle” additive which will increase the heat transfer of any liquid, and the lubricity of oils.   Evans shop lower level

jwe picA letter from the CEO,

I am proud to present Evans NPG Cooling Systems, our new cooling breakthrough. Like many of you, I have spent years working to find a way to run a car faster without detonation, knocking and causing damage to an engine.

As a designer and builder of race car engines, I devoted years of testing to find out how to produce greater power levels and efficiency through engine design if proper metal temperature control and operating uniformity could be attained. I knew that an entirely new approach to engine cooling, both chemically and mechanically, was to be required.

Through vigorous testing on our dynamometers, at the race track, and in climate - controlled OEM laboratory environments, I developed and quantitatively proved a new cooling technology using a new coolant and cooling system. This new coolant has an efficiency considerably superior to conventional coolants and has a boiling / vaporization point considerably higher than conventional coolants. The end result is greater thermal efficiency and fuel mileage while reducing detonation, emissions and wear. Better yet, Evans NPG+ Coolant is non - toxic, is non - pressurized and will minimize the production of vapor while having the ability to quickly condense any small amount of vapor that is generated.

After over 20 years of development and testing with vehicle manufacturers, over - the - road fleets and some pretty hard - hitting race teams, Evans (formerly known as MECCA / MECA Development) NPG+ Coolant and Cooling Systems are a reality. The best news is that it is available to you as an easy bolt (for maximum race performance) or drain and fill system, inexpensive to purchase and requires no additional changes to your race car unless you choose the high performance upgrades that include a radiator and pump in addition to the coolant replacement.... Now, this on - track advantage is available to you!

Sincerely,

Jack Evans
